Mulla Hospital is the popular name of Molvi Ebrahim Mulla Memorial Hospital. Molvi Ebrahim Mulla was from Nasilpore, a small village in the Navsari district of Gujarat, India who had come to the UK in 1961 and served his whole life as an Imaam and taught Islamic studies to students till the end of his life in 1986. A big amount of money was contributed by his sons for buying land and for the construction of the hospital. They, after a lot of persuasion, agreed to name the hospital after their father’s name.
The hospital is run by "Nasilpore Vibhag Sarvajanik Medical Trust". The trust was established on 16th February 2001 with the lofty ideals of service to humanity. The foundation stone of the hospital was laid down by Mufti Ahmad Khanpuri Sahab (D.B.) of Jamia Islamia, Dabhel on 18/03/2001. Because of the wholehearted support of the generous donors, the hospital became ready to serve humanity in pain.
The doors of the hospital were opened for the treatment of the patients by the auspicious hands of mufti Saeed Ahmad Palanpuri Sahib (D.B), Shaikh-Ul-Hadith, Dar-Ul-Uloom, Deoband and Maulana Asad Madani Sahab (R.A) who was also the member of the upper house of the parliament (Rajya Sabha).
The trust has always remained loyal to these ideals envisaged in the trust deed. The plea for raising funds for the construction of the hospital was responded whole heartedly by generous donors.
Trust in India
We run Molvi Ebrahim Memorial Hospital under the respective trust which is managed by “Nasilpore Vibhag Sarvajanik Medical Trust”. Marhum Yakub Musa Teladia of Nasilpore was the founding trustee of this trust and hospital, he had an idea and concept of building a hospital for the poor and needy people. He relentlessly tried to expand his ideas into the minds of leading persons of the village and surrounding areas. Ultimately his mission became a success and sons of Marhum Molvi Ebrahim Mulla agreed for initial donation to start and build up new construction of the hospital. It was registered and initiated under the name of 7 new founding trustee members in the name of trust.
Funds/Donations
Zakat/Sadqah Fund
Payment of zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. Zakat is 2.5% of the value of business commodities and building properties used for business purposes and 52.5 tolas of silver and 7.5 tolas of gold, if held for a year. We receive a lot of zakat donations with the condition of assisting the eligible and deserving patients. Zakat is an obligatory donation made by Muslims and the obligation is fulfilled only when it reaches the eligible and deserving person in a manner stipulated by the shariah. Zakat donations are a big sharaee responsibility for us. That is why we dispense zakat donations strictly in accordance with the guidance of shariah. We receive generous donations for this fund. We welcome our donors to visit the hospital and see by themselves how this fund is managed. They will be satisfied with the way the Zakat fund is managed. We hope our donors will flood this fund generously for poor and deserving patients.
Interest Fund
There is an interest fund for poor Non-Muslim patients. Money in this fund is utilized only in treatment of Non-Muslim patients. Like Zakat money, interest money is also not utilized in running and development of the Hospital. A large number of Non-Muslim brothers and sisters benefit from this fund.
Donation/Lillah Fund
A donation is a gift for charity, humanitarian aid, or to benefit a cause. This fund is crucial for running and development of the hospital. A hospital cannot serve patients without the modern diagnostic tools. Being a non-profit organization, it becomes very difficult to purchase such equipment but the flow of Lillah donations is not as good as it should be. A hospital is incomplete without such diagnostic tools and accessories. The maintenance of these equipment also demands a considerable sum of money. With the support of generous donors, we have basic facilities at our hand but a lot needs to be done for modernization of the hospital, so that the patients can be provided with quality medical care.
